Gushing ladies

There’s nothing more exciting for a bunch of single women than talks of engagement rings. This is certainly what the ladies at the restaurant felt. They were gushing about the engagement ring one of them got the previous night. Well, that’s according to what my siblings and I were hearing. The ladies were so loud that most of the restaurant’s patrons were looking at them the whole time. My siblings and I were so annoyed that we cancelled our orders and went to another more peaceful restaurant.

My weekend

Another busy weekend for his single lady here. Too many tasks to do for tomorrow. Everything concerning work. And for the house. I have to find a Hansgrohe faucet tomorrow. I have to do some grocery shopping as well. Not to mention the whole morning I will be assisting my cousin with the purchase of a new desktop. How I long for a weekend that will be all for having fun only, no worries about spending my hard earned money and will be spent with a handsome guy. Hmm…

My bestfriend's wife

What do you do when your bestfriend’s relatives tell you they do not like your bestfriend’s wife?

It as an awkward situation, to say the least. My bestfriend’s uncle told my dad about their dislike towards my bestfriend’s wife. They ranted about her and how they told her to her face how much they don’t like her. Apparently, they attended their wedding after my bestfriend begged his relatives. They’re the only ones he’s got left. His mother died a few years ago while his dad is now busy with his own family.

The relatives told the wife that they liked the ex-girlfriend better than her because the ex loves them and is close to them until now. While the wife does not even acknowledge them and is doing her best to brainwash my bestfriend against them. Actually the latter is the reason why their dislike for her was sealed. They learned that she was telling my bestfriend to stop helping them in any way.

Honestly, when I first met her, I am prepared to like her. It was a brief meeting at my bestfriend’s mom’s wake. And she was pleasant enough. Friendly. Her mom is the best because we hit it off instantly. Plus, even if she wasn’t that pleasant, I am prepared to like her out of loyalty to my bestfriend. We’ve been bestfriends for more than a decade already and I support his decisions in life. But when my sister and I stayed with the wife’s family a year before they got married, her true colors emerged. She really was unpleasant at times. I don’t know. Maybe it’s the woman in me who feels the woman in her. It’s like she’s really someone else but is hiding it well.

Oh well. I won’t tell my bestfriend about what his uncle told my dad. I don’t know how. I just wish that there will be a compromise soon. My bestfriend is a good man and he deserves happiness in his life. Not this rift.

Weight gain again

Aargh! I’ve gained weight again :( I know, what do I expect when I am eating as usual instead of dieting? I really need those diet pills my friend is telling me about. I think I need it already. I could feel the effect of the weight gain on my back. I know that it is all my fault and that it is only I who could be blamed. A steely resolve is needed. And determination.

Fascination

For a friend of mine who goes back and forth to vegas, it is a haven. He loves it there. No, he is not a gambler. He just loves the bright lights and the feeling of the place that it is always awake. He came from a provincial town that may account for his fascination with the place. I believe he is looking for a job there right now. He sure does love Vegas that much!

Thankful and feeling calm

At the first kiss I felt something melt inside me that hurt in an exquisite way. All my longings, all my dreams and sweet anguish, all the secrets that slept deep within me came awake, everything was transformed and enchanted, and everything made sense.

Job opportunities

Chicago Legal Jobs are available if you need one. There are so many legal jobs listed that there is no reason for you not to find one that suits your skills and experience.

I always say that in these hard times when the economy is down and it is hard to make both ends meet, it is imperative that everyone in the family who is already of legal age should pull their resources. I mean, there are jobs out there if one will just look for it. So there is really no reason not to work. For people who has a legal background, the legal jobs listed at Chicago Legal Job are the ones you should look into. There is a long list of jobs. Find the best one suited for you. Find the a company you will be comfortable working for. I am sure you will find one.

I remember a co-worker who was lamenting back then how her husband refuses to work because he could not find the salary he wanted. He kept on asking for a salary that was too much for his qualifications. He wanted to get benefits fit for an executive already. You know what, it is fine to be choosy. But when you know that the reason why you are not getting work is because you are demanding something ridiculous, well, that is bad. People should learn how to compromise. That is what I learned looking for that elusive satisfaction before. I shuffled from one company to another and realized that there is no perfect company or job. Everything is imperfect. Compromise is the key.

Now that you know this, go and find a legal job at ChicagoLegalJob.com now. Make sure you get to contribute to the family funds. Do not let only one parent work, especially for those with multiple kids. Visit ChicagoLegalJob.com now!

Endowment talks

Endowment Policies is the topic of the recent gathering that I went to last Sunday. I was surprised to hear about it considering the event was a children’s party. My goddaughter, Gab, turned two and her parents chose to celebrate it by inviting their friends and their friends’ kids. And because of the state of the economy nowadays, as well as the incoming presidential elections in the US… well, you can just imagine the discussion between the adults. It all centered on the economy and the state of living here in the country.

Anyway, I went to the table reserved for me and three of my friends. But since I was introduced as an accountant to the other guests, they thought they should ask me about finances while the kids were partying their hearts out. So we talked about exchanged rates, the bankruptcy news on Lehman brothers, interest rates soaring as well as the inflation rate here in the country, life, health, home insurances and even endowment policies! The discussion was quite invigorating because I never had one of those in years!

Well, it sure made attending the party worthwhile. Aside from the fact that I love seeing my godchildren, and Gab I haven’t seen in a while, I just love meeting and conversing with sensible people.

Funds for the vehicle

Is your company in need of a third party Vehicle reimbursement company? Mine does. You know, for quite some time now, the company I am currently employed part time is always complaining about the excessive reimbursements of its executives. I am doing consultancy work for them. And I was asked to reconcile of the allowances of its Chief Executive Officer. It was messy, to say the least. One executive has several allowances. Some of it are taxable, some are not. The most messy of all the allowances is the vehicle reimbursement. So instead of laboring over it again and again, the company is now thinking of getting the services of a third party company to help them with this allowance. Seven executives of the company are entitled to the allowance so you can just imagine the amount of work being poured over by three staff over these allowances every month.

Personally, a third party company to handle the vehicle reimbursement is a good idea. It will be impartial and given a clear cut criteria over what constitutes a legal vehicle expense, the third party company will be a better ‘guardian’ of the expense allowance. I am all for it! And as their consultant, I am pushing for the immediate implementation of this policy.

Someone special

We all have our standards when it comes to the person we want to spend the rest of our lives with. But notice that most often than not, we end up with the person who is the complete opposite of what we are. There are those who end up with their ideal partner. They are the exceptions to the norm.

They said that we should wish to be with someone who complements us. So that the weakness of one, can be overcome by the strength of the other.

It’s so funny how we set qualifications for the right person to love, while at the back of our minds we know that the person we truly love will always be an exception.

Pimple = In love?

When you are in love, you tend to develop acne. True or false? Of course it isn’t true! But I remember when I was younger, my older relatives tended to tease me about being in love when they see a pimple on my face. My mom was instantly on alert on hearing the teasing because she didn’t want me to be in love right away. She wanted me to concentrate on my studies first before I think of boys. And looking back, I really value the effort done by my mom to protect me. Otherwise, I would have probably be off with a man who barely knows who I really am.

Backing up files

I need to back up all the files in our desktop computer. I have my own laptop now but I was using the desktop before that. We stored all the photos we took during our trips with the relatives in the desktop. Plus some of my old files as well as the files of my sisters and some personal photos of my brother. We believe that the desktop computer is about to crash. Now I am just waiting for a gadget and computer equipment sale so I can buy the necessary equipment I need to back up all the files in the desktop before it really crashes.

A friend told me all about Buy.com’s Weekly Deals. Just go to Buy.com and find a great deal like the Cavalry CAUM Series CAUM37500 Hard Drive that will be the perfect tool for me to back up all the files in the old desktop. Just to let you know how good a deal this Hard Drive is: it retails for $89.99 but since it is included in the Weekly Deals, it is now available for only $69.99 after rebate. And shipping is free!

I was an impulsive buyer before. But I think as you grow older, you tend to be more discerning. You tend to prioritize things more than when you are younger. So instead of buying things right away, I now look for items on sale. Buy.com will now be my number one source for items. Saving even on shipping cost is a lot nowadays. I suggest that you check out Buy.com now for more items on sale!

Living independently

Two of my cousins who are in their 20s will be moving out of their respective parents’ homes to start living on their own. It is a big decision for both of them because both grew up being pampered by their parents. When we were together about two months ago, we got to talk about being independent. An older cousin of ours who grew up pampered just like them is already married now, has four kids and still relies and depends on her parents for almost everything. We all do not want another occurrence of this in our family. Being one of the older cousins, I was adamant that the younger ones will not end up like our Ate Espie.

I am helping them move out. I am calling boston moving companies to help them out with the actual move. I am proud of these kids because they have stepped up. They are already working and they figured out it is high time for the both of them to get out of their comfort zones and start being independent. Both are boys and I told them they don’t want to end up depending forever on their parents. They should start practicing being man of the house.
