by ChichiEndowment Policies is the topic of the recent gathering that I went to last Sunday. I was surprised to hear about it considering the event was a children’s party. My goddaughter, Gab, turned two and her parents chose to celebrate it by inviting their friends and their friends’ kids. And because of the state of the economy nowadays, as well as the incoming presidential elections in the US… well, you can just imagine the discussion between the adults. It all centered on the economy and the state of living here in the country.
Anyway, I went to the table reserved for me and three of my friends. But since I was introduced as an accountant to the other guests, they thought they should ask me about finances while the kids were partying their hearts out. So we talked about exchanged rates, the bankruptcy news on Lehman brothers, interest rates soaring as well as the inflation rate here in the country, life, health, home insurances and even endowment policies! The discussion was quite invigorating because I never had one of those in years!
Well, it sure made attending the party worthwhile. Aside from the fact that I love seeing my godchildren, and Gab I haven’t seen in a while, I just love meeting and conversing with sensible people.
