For a blog to be successful, it needs traffic. Lots of it. There are various ways to generate this. The blogger can go bloghopping and ask other bloggers to visit your site. You can go to forums and promote your blog. Or you can submit it to free web directories. I’ve tried doing all three and I must say that the last one is the most effective. Because you won’t be doing anything else but submit your site and make sure you are putting the correct description of it and putting it in the right category. Afterwhich, wait for traffic to come in from there. That’s it! Unlike with bloghopping, you really have to exert an effort to visit other blogs. No problem there as you will get to discover great ones. But it is time consuming, to say the least. If you have limited time online, this will eat up most of your time. The same goes with joining forums to promote your blog.
