by ChichiI normally don’t communicate with former co-workers unless they have become my friends of mine before I left the company. The reason for this is not because I am a snob. But because I know that when they do communicate, they are just asking for information regarding my expertise or something related to that. From experience, I know that they are not really concerned with my welfare but are just keeping in touch because they want to use something I know.
But I have remained friends with some of the people I’ve worked with in the past. Two of my former staff have become two of my closest friends. One of them was asking me about POS systems the last time we talked and, of course, I’ve given her all the information I know. If it’s my friends, sharing what I know is totally fine with me. But if they’re not, then, that’s another story.
