People Alone

People Alone by Randy Crawford is very special to me. This song is a reminder of my high school life and how carefree I was then.

We used to hang out at my friend’s house. SH is a good pianist and this song was always requested to be played. It was a witness to many “open forums” we had back then.

Hay…

Good, isn’t it?

Letting go of the past

Sunshine

Sometimes, it’s so hard to let go of the past. It’s the one constant in your life and you just can’t get past it. You can’t move on or see the light. If you’ve been in this situation, or is currently in one, you would know what I am talking about…

I saw him again. Truth is, there’s nothing there anymore. But to see him again is to bring the past up. Nothing more than that. I just miss the old times. That’s it.

I am ready to let go of the past now. Thank you very much.

Hair stylist friend

My friend is really good with hairstyling. Ever since I can remember, he’s been styling our hairs for free. I told him that maybe it’s time for him to earn something out of his passion. I told him to look for hair stylist jobs at Beauty Jobs.

BeautyJobs.com, a web site created exclusively for jobs in the beauty industry. The purpose of the site is to connect qualified job seekers with owners of salons, spas, and other beauty establishments. This way, there’s no need for job seekers to go from one establishment to another to ask for vacancy. They can easily search jobs at home.

I know my friend will become an asset of any beauty establishment that will hire him. I hope he finds one that will nurture his natural talent with hair styling.

Distinction

delishIt’s so hard to distinguish a person who’s just after what you can offer physically versus the one who’s out for the long haul.

Hannah’s going out with someone right now. He’s a friend who’s been dropping hints that he has the hots for her for quite some time now. Since she’s single and hasn’t been dating for over a year already, she thought why not give it a try? They’ve been out on five dates and every time he gets her alone in a corner or somewhere dimly lit or inside the car, he would pounce on her like he couldn’t control himself. She’s afraid that he’s just after sex and then would move on after the novelty wears off. She knows he’s not like that but her fear won’t subside.

Instinct might be telling her something. She’s holding off and he’s patiently waiting.

Cyber dating

How do you go on dates with your cyber boyfriend? You surf the net together! And chat, chat, chat!

My friend and her boyfriend who lives in another country chats every day. They see each other through Skype as often as they can. They talk on the phone, send text messages to each other, leaves offline IMs… and I know it’s still not enough. They long to be together as soon as they can.

And they will be. Very, very soon.

Hooked on him!

She’s hooked on him!

I must admit that he’s an improvement over the past three to four boyfriends. But then, I just have this feeling that he will end up hurting her again. Just like the men from her past. I am hoping that my gut’s wrong this time. There’s just something about her stories about him that bothers me.

He seems to be prejudiced against our race. Food, language, skin tone. I am even wondering why he hooked up with her when it seems he’s harboring a prejudice against us. You can detect it in the subtle hints in her stories. Of course, she’s in love and blind to the holes in his personality.

Again, I am hoping I am wrong. She deserves to be happy.

Dad's uncle

I will go out later to buy cigars. No, not for me. It’s for my dad’s uncle who will come visit tomorrow. He is fond of cigars. Since we haven’t seen him for over a year (he lives abroad), my dad thought it would be better to roll out the red carpet. He is his favorite uncle, anyway.

My dad’s already preparing some dishes. He might arrive tonight and he will stay for a week. Or he might arrive tomorrow and opt to stay at a nearby hotel. Whichever, my dad’s the excited mother hen at home tidying things up. I am sure that the house will be filled with stories about boxing, politics, and some other guy stuff.

Someone

I want someone with whom I can share everything. At the twilight of our lives, physical beauty will fade. But the inner beauty will magnify itself. It will sustain us through the years when all the action happens inside the mind.

My aunt was lucky enough to have found that very man. Combustion, global warming, boxing and football, dental implants Mexico, stem cell research, national elections, bestsellers, food… you name it and they can talk about it! That’s the type of partner I want for life. Someone I can share my thoughts with and won’t be brushed aside or smirked at. Someone who has silly and weird ideas like me. Someone who can be wacky and darn serious, too.

I am hoping he’s just around the corner and that I will bump unto him in the weeks to come…

Christmas gifts

If I will be able to save enough funds for this coming holiday season, I will give my siblings cell phones as gifts. I am a worrier. Whenever my siblings are out of the house and it’s already getting late, I need to be able to communicate with them to appease my mind. Since cell phones are the primary means of communication among us, it would be really great to have a good brand and model for each one of us.

I really wish I can save enough. I know that my siblings will love the gifts and it will bring me peace of mind to know that their cell phones won’t die out on them when the time comes they’ll need it badly.

Professional accounting

KondlerCPA.com is the web site of the respected leader in the financial account world’s Kondler, Chavez & Koch, CPAs. It is a Las Vegas cpa firm that offers services on financial accounting, tax services and more. I learned about KondlerCPA because a relative has a family restaurant business and he and his wife want the accounting done by a professional firm. There was no trust to the person who was assigned to take care of it in the past and they want a professional to look at the company books.

If you are looking for a cpa firm as well, go to KondlerCPA.com now for more information.
