Hectic end of the year

It will be a very hectic end of the year for my sister. Their company is in the middle of transitioning to a manual system to a computerized operating system. They are looking at implementing the project management software they acquired a month ago. And the POS system that they acquired a few months ago that they’re all training for. Not to mention they are closing their books and preparing for the financial report they need to present to management by the second week of January…

Family tradition

Before anything else, Diane has to pay for an rv repair first. They need to use their rv to go on an outing with the family. They do this trip every year and I know how excited the kids are already. I hope everything will be done on time.

In my case, we stay at home on Christmas day. But the day after that, we try to go somewhere we haven’t been before. It’s a way to bond with the family on a very special season of the year.

Allergic to dust mites

Cathy needs allergy mattress covers for her bed. She is allergic to dust mites and it can get pretty bad when it strikes. When she learned that she can buy something that will prevent her allergies from acting up, she knew right away that she has to get one for her.

Allergies can be a hassle, especially for Cathy who still goes to college. Good thing she can now do something about it.

Dreams of becoming a nurse

Diane has always wanted to become a nurse. She’s working in another industry right now but she feels this is the time for her to pursue her dreams. She’s planning on enrolling in an online university. She feels it’s her only option because she can’t leave her work just like that.

She found Western Governors University where she plans to get her online nursing degree. WGU offers affordable tuition fees along with quality education for all. Education in WGU is competency-based unlike in other universities where hours are credited more. WGU is now serving over 12,000 students from all 50 states and you can be one of them.

If you would like to take up an online course like Diane, you can visit www.WGU.edu for more information.

Drawn to married men

Why are some single women drawn to married men?

Let me hazard guesses here. Comfort and stability. Most married men have stable jobs or businesses and can provide for the basic needs aside from the comfort of extra funds can give. Maturity level. Women view married men to be more mature than the single and younger one. Baby treatment. Married men could treat women like their babies, giving them their every whim.

I know you’ve seen or heard most of the things I mentioned. There are women who are after any of the three or all of it. Of course, it could be love. Mostly on the part of the women. I doubt if the married men are actually after love. Some might. But I guess most are after the physical intimacy only.

One thing’s for sure: families are threatened by third parties all the time. It can happen to you or me anytime.

Wedding invites, planner and reception

The wedding invitations of my friend Ben and Ava were really unique. It had cut outs of their images and had a fairyland theme. I kept it as a remembrance of the event.

Two things about weddings: get a wedding planner and a good place for the reception. The wedding planner should have a reputation for being good. Do not get the ones randomly recommended to you. Check them out. Ask past clients, if possible. Because a good wedding planner can make a huge difference in a wedding. They can make things run smoothly if they are really that good. Plus, they can make a reception interesting and cut down the inanities. A good location for reception is also a must so as to make everyone feel connected.

If you have the two, you are 90% sure your wedding will turn out fine.

Living in

I know they are checking out apartments for rent right now. They’ve been together for two years and they’re taking their relationship to the next level. They will start to live together once they found the apartment they can afford. No wedding talks yet. They want to take their time but they also want to be together without the paper works. Thus, the live in set up.

Personally, I think there’s nothing wrong with the live in setup. It could save the both of you some headaches in the future when you both realize you are not compatible at all. You could make a clean break and that’s it. Unlike with a married couple, you will need to undergo legalities before you can formally make a clean break.

What do you think?

Hooked on bad boys

badboy

She’s always been hooked on bad boys. We would wonder what she saw in a guy she’s dating and we would only see one thing: a bad boy through and through. As usual, she’s drawn to the danger he’s exuding. I don’t know why but it’s always been like that with her. Drawn to danger, to the unusual.

Her family couldn’t care less. They’ve always given her every little whim. Especially her dad. She’s good in school, a lovely girl inside out, and articulate. The boys were reticent, with dubious personalities. Maybe it’s true what they say, opposite attracts.

Or there’s something in the bad boys that make her tick…

Get new quotes

Take advantage of free insurance quotes and compare the rates given by different providers. You need it especially now the year is ending. I know there are a lot of plans expiring before the year ends so I am encouraging everyone to get new quotes. You might find a better rate and a better plan in the process. Who knows! It’s free and you won’t lose anything, anyway.

That’s one of the things I learned this year. To always be on the lookout for the best yet with better prices. There are a lot of products out there, competing ones, and they will do their all to outdo each other and gain more customers. I know that because I once worked for a provider.

Hard work

She’s getting her stuff online these days. She’s extremely busy with working, saving up for the down payment for the condominium unit she’s eyeing. Her clothes are mostly from Free People and she’s even on a diet to save on food and electricity. I actually admire her hard work. It’s impressive.

I used to work just like that. I would go to the office as early as seven in the morning and would go home a little over midnight. There’s too much work to be done especially during end of the year. I never complained. I thrived on the pressure of the work environment. People even saw me smiling all the time and I know they could see how much I loved what I was doing back then. Until the stress took its toll and I had to stop. By the time I stopped, the hard work was already paying off, with the family benefiting from it, too.

Bad kind of love

With all the brouhaha surrounding Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao‘s alleged illicit affair with starlet Krista Ranillo, you’d think he didn’t win his recent bout with Miguel Cotto. But who wouldn’t be drawn to the drama, right? With Jinkee Pacquiao crying during a thanksgiving mass for the Cotto win, the video of Pacman with a woman some say was Krista after his guest appearance at the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and the appearance of the Ranillo family in Las Vegas with Krista and Jinkee bumping into one another at a Channel store… oh the drama! You were surely hooked! Am I right?

We might be forgetting something vital in this whole drama… an illicit affair is not something that we should all just gloss over. It is not something to be laughed about. Instead, we should encourage those who are engaged in one to stop and think about the people they’re hurting in the process. The guy’s wife and kids. The girl’s family. It’s a bad kind of love. If they are really in love, make a clean cut first.

And now we have the Tiger Woods situation…

Wrecked!

I do hope he has car insurance. He wrecked his car once again. This is the third time, if I am not mistaken. His dad already warned him that the next time he wrecks his car, he will shoulder the costs of repairs. He’s fed up with his negligence. He feels like he’s not taking care of the things given to him.

Well, if I were in his dad’s shoes, I would feel disappointed and frustrated as well. Who wouldn’t?

Eloping

There are truck accessories on our neighbor’s driveway. It’s blocking their garage door. They were puzzled why it was there. I couldn’t tell them that it was put there by their daughter and her boyfriend. They eloped during the night and to prevent her parents from following them by car easily, they blocked the garage door.

Imagine that! I didn’t even know there are still couples eloping. But our neighbor did. Why do I know? I was one of the few people who overheard the neighbor’s daughter frantically calling her boyfriend the other night. I was out with some cousins, waiting for a cab to pass by when we heard a girl crying. We didn’t mean to eavesdrop but since the girl’s voice was a bit loud, we couldn’t help but overhear what she’s saying.

I do hope everything will work out fine for all of them. Family is important.

Born to love

They say…

We are born to love.
- Helen Fisher

And I believe it. It doesn’t mean romantic love only. Love can also be for persons who are close to you. Your family, friends and other love ones. Yes, it can be your partner. Or it can be towards things or your pet.

Life is extremely lonely without love. I don’t even think it’s even life without it.

What do you think?
