A couple of years ago, one of our neighbors couldn’t find a job. It’s always no vacancy or that she wasn’t qualified for the job. A relative of hers back then needed someone to help her process her disability insurance. Because she was free, she took time out from her job hunting and devoted her time instead in helping her relative get the disability benefits she badly needed.
And then another relative asked for her help. Like the first one, she was given a minimal amount for the help. A neighbor asked for her help, too, and this time around, she really made it a business deal. She asked for a minimal amount in exchange for the help. Another neighbor came to her for help and another one and another one. The rest is history. She’s been in the business of helping the elderly and the disabled get the benefits due them. No, she doesn’t charge a high price for the help. She actually charges very minimal fee just to cover out of pocket expenses and a few bucks of profit. Anyway, when she aggregates all the bucks she gets in a year, it still sums up to a tidy profit for her.
